Ohio Division of Forestry’s Proposed 2026–2027 Annual Work Plan

October 5 is the deadline to comment on the Ohio Division of Forestry’s proposed 2026–2027 Annual Work Plan. The plan guides work in our state forests, including logging and burning.

Our public forests are worth more than the timber they produce. They protect our water, provide wildlife habitat, sequester carbon, and provide recreation opportunities that we want future generations to have the opportunity to enjoy. Ohio’s forest management decisions should be rooted in science, not profit!

Our Forest Committee put together a resource guide with talking points and a sample comment document to assist you in drafting your own personalized comments. Please join us in telling the DOF to prioritize the forests’ long-term health!
